“In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn’t merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog.”
– Edward Hoagland
At Paws To Train, we know your relationship with your dog is truly special, and creating a mutual bond of love and trust comes from kind, fair and patient training. We also understand training can appear daunting, especially when the perception is time should be put aside to carry out regular training; at Paws To Train, we coach you on how to use training exercises in everyday life so it becomes a way of life and creates the strongest of bonds between you and your best friend, your dog!
The earlier you start training, the stronger the bond, and training with us can start as soon as you bring your puppy or rescue dog home. We also offer sessions for adolescent dogs experiencing brain fog from surges in hormones, through to older dogs who just missed out on basic training.
We love working with dogs and watching them progress, and this passion extends to the way we coach owners. We ensure it is done in a sensitive, supportive, and friendly manner. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the tools to result in your dream dog……”
When your dog or puppy attends our one-to-one training, they will have the opportunity to learn a specific behaviour in an environment that is less stimulating than a group class.
Learn moreYou have attended puppy training classes but there are some behaviours your maturing dog is just not mastering. Instead of hoping this will change if you ignore the unwanted behaviour, because we promise you it won’t, invest in some one to one training sessions where we focus on the specific areas of training needed.
Learn moreWe dogs like to be rewarded when we get things right. It might take us a while to get it right all the time, so please be patient and consistent with us.
No matter what our owners say, we do not think like or act like humans. We just get great pleasure in running, playing, sniffing (it is their pemail) eating and sleeping.
This is where we have learned manners and don’t have to be told what to do. We don’t jump, counter-surf, bark incessantly, pull on the lead, or ignore a recall.
Our owners do a great job teaching us, professional trainers teach how to make us the best we can be, and to understand and phase out unwanted behaviours.
